As the Seasons Change, Support Continues

The days are getting shorter. The evenings are cooler. Before long, summer at Tharros Village will give way to crisp fall mornings and, eventually, the cold days of winter.

Code Purple in Action

For our residents, the changing seasons bring a transition of their own.

Tharros Village provides seasonal housing, but the support, relationships and progress built here do not simply disappear when summer ends. Residents have spent their time at Tharros working, volunteering, connecting with supportive services and taking steps toward greater stability and independence.

Tents Ready for Storage

As winter approaches, residents who still need shelter have the opportunity to participate in Code Purple, a winter shelter program serving men and women during the coldest months of the year.

That transition matters.

Moving from Tharros Village to Code Purple provides an important bridge for those who have not yet secured permanent housing. It means they can continue moving forward without facing the winter months alone.

And moving forward is what Tharros is all about.

Every person’s path is different. For some, a summer at Tharros may lead directly to employment and permanent housing. For others, the journey takes longer and requires another season of support.

As the tents are prepared for winter and another summer season comes to a close, we celebrate every step our residents have taken and remain grateful for the volunteers, donors and community partners who make those steps possible.

The seasons may change, but the goal remains the same: helping people build a path toward a more stable future.
