More Success

At Tharros Village, we believe in something simple but powerful: this is a hand up for those who want to break the cycle of homelessness. It is not a handout.

That belief came to life again this week.

Eugene, a former guest at Tharros Village, stopped by to clear out the last of his belongings from our storage unit. It was a small moment, but one that marked something much bigger. A fresh start fully claimed.

Eugene stayed with us for two months in the summer of 2025. During that time, he showed up for himself. Through wrap-around support, structure, and the expectation to work or volunteer, he began building a new path forward.

Today, Eugene is working full time at the YMCA and renting a room in a home in Rehoboth Beach. He is moving forward with stability, purpose, and independence.

He shared his gratitude for the volunteers at Tharros Village who supported and encouraged him during one of the most difficult seasons of his life.

Stories like Eugene’s are why Tharros exists. Real change does not happen overnight, but with the right support and a willingness to try again, it does happen.

And sometimes, it looks like a storage unit finally emptied, and a life moving forward.
